MOSCOW, Jul 21 (PRIME) -- First Deputy Transport Minister Alexander Neradko, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, has proposed to allow flights from six Russian cities at the first stage of resuming international air traffic, Izvestia daily reported Tuesday citing industry sources.
The cities are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Vladivostok, according to a letter sent by Neradko to the government.
“If air traffic with other countries is restored on August 1, Russian airports that are not classified as domestic hubs will be able to receive flights from abroad no earlier than mid-August,” the daily said.
The date of resuming international flights has not been determined yet.
Russia ceased international air travel in late March amid the coronavirus pandemic.
